case study breakdown

the client.

birthed from cross-industry experts, Looks For Lease is a technology and fashion start-up incorporating the power of augmented and virtual reality with game design to provide fashion lovers everywhere with access to niche, avant garde garments.

through a digital-based platform sustainability and technology fuse together to enable users to scan, measure,  tailor, and order high-end fashion pieces.

the challenge.

with three stakeholders all interested in different design directions, it was poché’s job to make sure each voice was reflected in the final product. how does this happen, you ask? with the trusty, ever-reliable, and most vital project component: the mood board.

unlike other projects, our team worked both with and for the client to develop a visual narrative from something that couldn’t quite be referenced yet.

the solution.

while futuristic design can be tough, the solution is simple: retain modern relevance by creating future standards. this is achieved by juxtaposing elements of futurist and classic styles to contrast and complement one another.

the poché way.

whether it’s a dimension we’re previously versed in or one we’re working alongside you to create, we aren’t scared of leaving our comfort zone to ensure your project needs are met (don’t worry, if you’re scared, we’ll give you a little nudge too).

the look and feel /

a logo for the ages.

with so much of their new visual language contingent on creating a new world, it was important to incorporate a major element that would help ground this newly defined, abstract digital stratosphere. because of this, we decided to keep the logo chic, clean, and high fashion to ensure when consumers saw the logo, the brand’s mission and purpose immediately resonated without any confusion.

futuristic inspired moods.

alongside the future-forward design direction used throughout this project, we strived to remain contextually relevant within the current day and age. we did this by establishing the world the project would live in and worked backward from there to create moments that felt contemporary.

early on in the process, we decided to depict the futuristic mood of the Looks For Lease world through iridescent colorways to best convey the androgynous, avant-garde elements that mattered most to the brand’s core values. through the use of traditional arch windows contrasted against fluid shapes, smooth edges, and abstracted geometry, we created a cohesive design direction.
