case study breakdown

the client.

For The Margin is a modern, millennial devotional and faith-focused brand that shares biblical perspectives through marginalized stories. their platform aims to amplify underrepresented voices and foster community amongst like-minded individuals in pursuit of something greater.

the challenge.

the challenge here was one we know all too well and the primary reason this client sought us out. they needed help creating something simple and minimalistic that did not leave users feeling bored and disengaged. while this was challenge for the client, it was a brief we handled with ease.

the solution.

it was important for the client to receive a final product that could grow with all sectors of their brand. to do this, we focused on establishing a visual identity throughout their digital presence strong enough to translate into physical products.

the poché way.

the beauty of working with poché design studio is that your style become our style. because we aren’t limited to a particular aesthetic or visual language, we adopt the design styles that speak most to you in order to beautifully translate your ideas through your voice.

consider each project with us like the making of a one-of-one, extremely rare picasso piece… except we are the painters and the clients (read: you) are holding our hands, deciding the placement of each brush stroke.

essentially, that’s what it’s like to work with us. we prioritize collaborative methodologies that emphasize your vision and puts our studio’s skillset to use. this process begins with the mood board. here, you tell us what’s on your mind, and poof, we bring it to life.

setting the tone.

final delivery

spoiler alert.. they loved it.

after all, why restrict something super dope to the digital sphere when there’s an entire world of physical products your brand can explore?

the merch

  • tapping into the brand’s biblical roots, the t-shirt design is an interpretation of Adam and Eve through the detailed linework we designed.

  • seeing as the brand's founders are both being women of color, it was important that the design interpret the subject matter at hand through their lens. here, we did this by pulling elements of the founders looks and depicting them through this unique representation of Adam and Eve.

  • notice anything from the mood board? serving as a constant reference, the project mood board helps informs our design process along the way and is constantly pulled from for inspiration.

the logo

  • a simple logo is typically minimal in intricacy, but still, visually engaging. as a result, we used a monochromatic color palette alongside custom lettering and typography to ensure their message was clearly conveyed.

  • playing on the strengths of our team, we had a couple of team members work to their strengths to create this design to detail and add bits of feminine flare, and the timeless brand logo was formed.

  • we embedded a cross into the T in their logo to reference the faith-based element of their brand.

the product

  • maintaining the simplicity within the established visual language, we made sure each element present served a purpose. this allowed for a final book cover design that was sleek, modest, and classic.

  • in order to maintain consistency amongst products, we used previously created assets throughout the project to establish key brand identifiers.

  • take one last look. notice a pattern here? pulling from the color palette present with the brand’s web design, we tied in the same neutral palette within to maintain a sense of consistency between the brand’s online and physical presence.

materializing your dreams.

it is rare to find a design studio that can carry a project through the intricate phases of branding, product development, and web design. luckily, here at poché design studio, we consider multiphase projects a piece of cake (strawberry cheesecake, to be specific).

not only does this give us more time to work with you to create something timeless, it minimizes the heavy lifting on your end by allowing us to cover all your creative needs through our one-stop-shop.
