case study breakdown
the client.
The National Organization of Minority Architects is a professional organization for architects and allied professionals whose aim is to advance justice and equity in communities of color. additionally, they serve as a space for industry professionals to connect to those that look like them.
the challenge.
while designing for a never before seen space (on another side of the country) is a challenge, it is not impossible. empty spaces can seem daunting, but we’re designers and architectural designers, remember? we approached this project as a blank canvas that allowed us to tap into our architectural roots.
the solution.
as a studio whose roots are founded in architecture, accessibility design is consistently one of our utmost concerns. we knew the only way this experience would stand out amongst a sea of attractions was to make sure we considered every possible user.
the poché way.
dope design should be inclusive. in all that we make, we strive to ensure clients and their audiences everyone feels seen, heard, and included. after all what good is something if it cannot be experienced by the masses? dope design exists for all!
create (and be) the mood
our shop is where we play without limits, constraints, or guidelines. there, our only rule is that we have fun and stay true to how we feel. it’s this sense of authenticity that relates with clients the most. so much so, they often reference design experiments throughout our shop and request that we incorporate them into their projects.
because of our commitment to exploration and dedication to dope design in all we do, we can be self-referential in ways that our clients find highly beneficial. for us, this is a win-win situation.

the experiential process
our team spent an immense amount of time factoring in the layout, functionality, and aesthetics of the space. in the end, we landed on a design that was as visually engaging as it was practical.
build
more than arbitrary measurements with no sense of real world application, every value used throughout this project considered the audience that would ultimately engage with the material. this included designing with accessibility as an utmost priority.
design
outcome
we designed the forgotten founders moveable exhibit that was located by the check-in deck as well in the expo area. we also designed a welcome board and 3 custom designed and built informational triangle pillars and branded postcards. You can read more about the project here.
